Durban will be a hub of excitement on Sunday, 14 October 2018 when thousands of runners toe the line ready to  #RunDurbanYourWay at the 2018 ABSA Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN.

“The ABSA Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN is the last of three mass participation road running events that make up the ABSA Run Your City Series,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director Stillwater Sports.  “The series kicked off with the ABSA Cape Town 12 ONERUN in May.  The second event, the ABSA Joburg 10K CITYRUN, will engulf the streets of Johannesburg on Monday, 24 September.  Finally Durbanites will have their turn to experience the action on Sunday, 14 October.  All three events highlight the essence of its host city and attract both local and international interest.”

“The ABSA Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN boasts a special ambiance,” continues Meyer.  “Runners can look forward to an action packed 10km journey that highlights important landmarks and features exciting live entertainment compliments of Durban’s leading performing arts groups.  The fresh sea air and magnificent ocean views definitely add to the experience.”

“I am excited that the 2018 ABSA Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN will see a whole new route that will showcase a few landmarks the City has to offer – some of the new with some of the very old! And our finish again on the iconic beachfront will still allow families to linger along our ‘Golden Mile’. And of course, the entertainment along the route promises the unique running experience this event offers!” says Michael Honeywell, from ABSA Business in KZN.

Celebrating its 2nd anniversary in 2018, the ABSA Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN grants entrants the unique opportunity to explore their city on foot.  In addition to lively on-route entertainment and rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s best middle distance runners, the 2018 ABSA Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN route will also highlight a number of Durban’s iconic landmarks.
