PUMA South Africa has thrown down the gauntlet challenging runners to ‘Beat Bolt’ at the 2nd annual ABSA Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN on Sunday, 14 October 2018.

“The #ForeverFaster PUMA ‘Beat Bolt’ Sprint was extremely well received at the inaugural ABSA Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN in 2017,” says Brett Bellinger, Marketing Director of PUMA South Africa.  “Since then Capetonians have had their turn to ‘Beat Bolt’ at the ABSA Cape Town 12 ONERUN (in May this year).   In September we’ll head to Johannesburg for the ABSA Joburg 10K CITYRUN, before returning to Durban on Sunday, 14 October 2018.  We are looking for excitement and camaraderie, but most importantly we are looking for #FastTimes.”

“The #ForeverFaster PUMA ‘Beat Bolt’ Sprint will be activated on the second half of the ABSA Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN route,” continues Bellinger.  “We are proud to say that our PUMA activation will be bigger and better than before.  Be sure to reserve some energy as the ‘Beat Bolt’ Sprint requires speed.  Be prepared to give your all over a 100m sprint.  This section of the route will once again be timed.  The runner (male and female) to clock the fastest time over  the 100m will be rewarded with a PUMA shopping voucher to the value of R10 000.”

Additional PUMA Prizes up for grabs:  ABSA Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN participants that secure the following sprint times will qualify for discount vouchers instore at PUMA:

  • Under 15 seconds for 100m: 30% discount off a purchase at the PUMA store
  • Under 20 seconds for 100m: 20% discount off a purchase at the PUMA store
  • Under 25 seconds for 100m: 15% discount off a purchase at the PUMA store

The #ForeverFaster PUMA ‘Beat Bolt’ sprint will be stationed in the region of the 7 – 9km mark.  With such an impressive prize incentive, be sure to make this the fastest 100m of your life.  All runners will be notified of their 100m sprint times via sms after the race.

Celebrating its 2nd anniversary in 2018, the ABSA Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN grants entrants the unique opportunity to explore their city on foot.  In addition to lively on-route entertainment and rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s best middle distance runners, the 2018 ABSA Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN route will also highlight a number of Durban’s iconic landmarks.
